It is a great pleasurehonor to invite you to join the 33rd Annual Meeting of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery which will be held in Antalya on September 1-5, 2010. Facial Plastic Surgery has been growing stronger as a subspeciality every year all over the world, in Europein Turkey as well. The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery acts as a flagcarrier in organizing the educational activitiesprofessional communication inout of Europe more than 30 years. The Facial Plastic Surgery Society in Turkey was established in 2006 to promote facial plastic surgery. It is also working under the umbrella of EAFPSthe number of its members exceeded over 300 within a short period of time.
A first visit to Turkey, particularly if one is unsure of returning, should include at least four areas: Istanbul, Cappadocia, Antalya,Ephesus. The Antalya Region, offering all the mysticism of past in our day, is now called the Turkish Riviera due to its archaeologicalnatural beauties. Antalya is the place where sea, sun, historynature constitute a perfect harmonywhich also includes the most beautifulclearest coast along the Mediterranean. INFORMATION on THE EUROPEAN ACADEMY of FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY
The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (formerly known as The Joseph Societyas the European Academy of Facial Surgery) was founded in 1977. Its objectives are to stimulate training, researchscientific advancement in the field of PlasticReconstructive Surgery.
Membership is drawn from all interested specialities with expertise in facial surgery both within Europefurther afield. The official language of the Academy is English.
The Academy has been involved with the European Community in identifying Facial Plastic Surgery as a discrete entityis active in promoting appropriate training schemes for trainees in the specialty of facial plastic surgery.
The Academy aims to stimulate a high standard of facial plastic surgery within Europe through a certification process. There are now over 600 membersmembership continues to grow.

Facial Plastic Surgery Society of Turkey has been founded in 2006 with the aim of spreading education, supporting researches & researchers, organizing scientific meetingsfor the outcome of providing quality service for patients within Turkey.
How to reach AntalyaCongress Venue
Antalya airport is at 10 km East of the city centre,has direct flights from a number of countries. It is well connected to other parts of Turkeythere are frequent domestic flights to / from Istanbul, AnkaraIzmir. As Antalya is the major touristic town in Turkey, there are many charter flights to/from neighbouring countries organized by private companies during the holiday season.
Airport Transfers
It takes 30 minutes to get from Antalya Airport to the congress venue. The easiest way is to take a taxi at a cost arround 40 Euros. However, regular transfer service can be obtained from the Congress Organizing Secretariat. Those are private minivans only used for congress participants. Please indicate your airport transfer request while filling in the hotel reservation form online at the congress web site. Airport transfers should be orderedpaid in advance.

Invitation Letter
Individuals requiring an official letter of invitation in order to attend the congress can write to the Organising Secretariat. This procedure is designated to assist participants to obtain a visapermission to attend the meetingdoes not apply to registration feesother expenses.
BankingExchange Facilities
Foreign money can be changed at banks during normal business days (09.00-17.00 Monday-Friday) as well as at hotels, at the airportin exchange offices. Exchange rates are set daily by the Central Bank. All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurantsshops. Automated bank machines are available at many points throughout the cityat the airport.
ClimateClothing
Daytime temperatures are in the range of 22-28°Cevening temperatures are 18-24°C. We recommend you to bring light clothes.

The Turkish currency is Turkish Lira.

Electricity
The electrical power supply in Turkey is 220 volts.
Language
The official language of the congress is English.
Shopping
One of the most enjoyable parts of a trip to Turkey is shopping for the rich variety of Turkish crafts. Turkish carpets, kilims, suedeleatherwear as well as other items of clothing are the best buys. Copper, silver, brasswarejewellery are also choices for buying, along with works of ceramicsthe famous Turkish meerschaum.

Turkey is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
Tipping
Although service charge is included in most restaurants, leaving a tip at one´s own discretion is appreciated.
Visa Requirements
Participants are requested to check with the Turkish Consulate in their home countrywith their travel agencyat www.mfa.gov.tr for visa requirements. Entry visa to Turkey can also be obtained at Antalya Airport for a number of countries.
